About RvStoria
RvStoria is a set of plain-English guides and free tools for people who buy, tow and live in caravans, hybrids, pop-tops and camper trailers.
Where we come from
RvStoria was started by a developer from Rongcheng, a coastal town in Shandong, China. Rongcheng builds about a third of China's RVs and more than half of the ones China exports, and a large share of the new caravans sold in Australia each year now come from Chinese factories.
Being from Rongcheng puts us right next to the factories. We can work directly with many of the manufacturers that build these vans, and we use that closeness for two things: helping buyers find the van that truly suits the way they travel, and bringing what real owners need, from the campsite and the highway, back to the production line. By the time a van reaches a dealer in Brisbane or Christchurch, a lot of what the factory knows about it has been lost. RvStoria is our attempt to carry it the rest of the way, from factory to freedom.
How we check what we publish
- Every guide lists its sources. Rules and regulations link to the official source wherever one exists.
- Tool results are estimates from typical figures, and each tool explains its method on the page. Where we've used a rule of thumb, we say so.
- We update guides when rules change and show the date. If you spot something wrong or out of date, email hello@rvstoria.com and we'll fix it.
- We don't sell caravans, and no manufacturer or dealer pays to appear in a guide.
For manufacturers and importers
We're working with RV builders and importers on better owner information: accurate specs, manuals in plain English, and clearer warranty and parts support after a van has been exported. If that's you, write to hello@rvstoria.com. We read and reply in English and Chinese.
Tell us what you think
Suggestions, corrections, questions about a van, or something you'd like a guide on: email hello@rvstoria.com. It goes straight to the person who builds this site, and every message gets read.
